Maija was recently invited to show her work at
Atelier Sur Le Quai, Place de l’Horloge
S a i g n o n, FRANCE
The Exhibit was very well attended, with great enthusiasm, and good
sales. It was an event of a lifetime.
Maija has been fortunate to have been, the recipient
of numerous awards, and has been asked to participate in many "Invitational"
Exhibits sponsored by Fine Art Galleries, Museums, and Academia.
She has exhibited
with the Miniature Art Society of Florida, the Florida Watercolor Society,
the American Watercolor Society, and in 1986 she was accepted as a Signature
member into the highly prestigious National Watercolor Society. She is a signature
member of the Florida Plein Air Painters. Presently, she works entirely in
oils.
In 1999, and
again in 2005, Maija was invited to participate in “Biennale of Internazionale
Dell’Arte Contemporanea” held in Florence, Italy.
This event, was organized by the World Bank and UNESCO, in collaboration
with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Also, in collaboration with the United Nations, the Biennale is an
official participant in the “Dialogue among Citizens” program.
The “Biennale of Florence” invited 600 artists
from 54 countries.
Maija's paintings have been added to collections, both domestically, and abroad.
Her work can be seen in Banks, Tourist Facilities, Universities, Gov't buildings,
Corporations, both Public and Private, etc. Her work hangs in the homes
of celebrities, and other Public Figures, whose names must be respected for
their privacy.
She had the honor of being asked to exhibit her
work at Congress’ Rayburn House Office Building in Washington, DC. She has
